The Lord is risen – He is risen indeed!
The church was transformed for Easter day, so that once we’d attended the dawn service at the Preaching Brae and enjoyed breakfast provided by our friends at Cairns Church, we were greeted with beautiful floral displays as we lit the Paschal candle and celebrated the Resurrection at the 10am Eucharist. This included a meaningful symbolic action of covering the large wooden cross – which had only purple cloth on Good Friday – with many fresh flowers, in memory of those who have died, and representing the promise of new life. Thank you to Robert, Freda and Liz for creating this. Thank you also to Sam for playing the organ for us.
Below are photos of some of our church family celebrating Easter. It was especially good to have Annette and Rosamund here with us today as well as young members of the Milne family.
