For our Harvest Thanksgiving service on Sunday (available on the church website), the lovely floral decoration was provided by Helen, and gifts of fruit, vegetables and other produce on display were donated to the Elpis Trust charity, a centre accommodating homeless and vulnerable young women in the Ruchill area of Glasgow, which we support at St. Andrew’s. For the Communion song and the Sanctus and Benedictus, a vocal addition was provided by means of a lapel mic, from outside the main area of worship. We hope to test from just how far away this can be achieved, within reason, and without the singer getting too cold. The church also has the technology to allow members to join our AGM by Zoom this coming Sunday, immediately following the service. Andrea will send an invitation link this week, so that anyone can take part from home. Helen has emailed the relevant papers, and a small number of printed copies will also be available. She will gladly include questions or comments from anyone not able to be present either in church or virtually.
We are reaching capacity for seating at the required distance, so are looking at how we might adapt if numbers continue to rise – a nice challenge to have!
