In this period of renewed uncertainty our vestry met last night by Zoom with ambitious plans for services during our Advent pilgrimage and indeed up to a Christmas Eve Carol service and Christmas day with a new normal service. We are continually blessed by having singers and hymns which enhance the services and we look forward to the introduction of our new injections which apparently will kill almost all known germs!
We are still unable to accommodate more than 24 socially distancing congregational members without taking down the outside wall which our Property Member has so far refused to do! We could of course open up the communicating door to Friendship house and install large windows but that is presently in the world of fantasy but who knows?
Our new vestry members were photographed during the zoom meeting and copies of this photograph may be obtained for a large donation on application to Robert our Church designated photographer and archivist. As our income has fallen quite dramatically for several reasons outwith our control we are open to any member who may wish to increase their giving – not virtually but actively! We await the decisions of our first minister Nicola to see if any more restrictions are to be put upon us all to save us – SOS springs to mind!
On sunday 29th November we are going to celebrate our Patronal Festival in an early St Andrew’s Day Service as our normal evening service with the following popular fish and chips social event has been shelved owing to the difficulty of eating with our masks on! Keep safe everyone!!
