Towards the end of this most unusual of years, we at St. Andrew’s are continuing the reassuring mediaeval tradition of carol-singing, at a service on Christmas Eve at 5pm. This particular occasion, of course, will involve more listening than singing, but we should have our wonderful cantor for a few of the carols, which will intersperse the lessons from scripture describing the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus.
Then on the 25th with Eucharist at 10am, we celebrate the Nativity, and the mystery and joy of God becoming human.
We continue to be grateful for all who have worked carefully in the background during Advent – to create room for extra seats so that a few more worshippers can be fitted in with distancing still in place; to keep everything sanitised, so that we feel comfortable in a warm, safe space; to plan, prepare and contribute to the services at a time of unknowns, and to share them with folks who are not able to come along in person.
