We celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany on Sunday, recalling the visit to the infant Jesus by wise men from the East and the manifestation to the world of Christ – sent to be Saviour of all people, as Andrea highlighted in her sermon. Clare sang some lovely hymns for us, including Whence is That Goodly Fragrance, a 17th century French carol, and the Taize chant Laudate Dominum was used during communion.
It was planned for midweek said eucharist to resume at St. Andrew’s on the 7th, but we learned on Monday of course that, for several weeks at least, we won’t be able to worship together in person because of tightened Covid restrictions.
As well as our own services being available on YouTube courtesy of Andrea, online worship has continued to be produced by the Scottish Episcopal Church, accessible via the SEC’s website, on YouTube and Facebook, and this week the Epiphany service was led by the Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway, the Rt Rev Kevin Pearson, from St Mary’s Cathedral. We’re grateful that these options are offered for when we are not all able to meet together in a church building.
Using another online tool, Vestry members will gather virtually on Monday evening from their own homes, via Zoom.
