Although Christian Aid Week has just come to an end, we can still make donations if we’ve not yet had the chance. Normally folks at St. Andrew’s, along with other Milngavie churches, would raise money by door to door collections and soup lunches, but unfortunately, we are still unable to do that. However, the charity still desperately needs our financial support. Extremely poor areas of the world are suffering terribly from Covid and its ramifications. This year’s Christian Aid week is also particularly highlighting the climate crisis, one of the greatest injustices we face. You can donate online to the Milngavie Churches’ Christian Aid Group e-envelope scheme using this link – https://envelope.christianaid.org.uk/envelope/milngavie-ca-group. If your donation qualifies for Gift Aid, please tick the box to make it worth 25% more. Christian Aid envelopes are also available in church – please return to Liz or a member of the Vestry.
Thanks to Robin for deputising this past week; leading our Thursday Eucharist for Ascension Day and presiding and preaching on Sunday. A helpful sheet of the readings and prayers were available to take away to aid further reflection on the thoughts he offered. Robin will lead again on Thursday 20th and lead this coming Sunday’s Liturgy Sacrament and Fraser will Preach and Lead the Liturgy of the Word, for Pentecost, when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.
