On Sunday 25th Robin was deputising for Andrea and focused on Jesus’ words to his disciples at the Last Supper in which he prepared them for his death, resurrection and indeed Ascension which is remembered in church calendars this week. The key words are “Do not let your hearts be troubled” and “Peace be with you.” A tenet of faith, just as relevant in today’s unsettled times. Alison played the organ to lead our singing of well chosen hymns by Andrea. Children responded well to the themed materials prepared by Helen.
Next Thursday [29th May] is Ascension Day, when there is a special service for the Glasgow NW Region of Scottish Episcopal churches. It will be held at All Saints Jordanhill at 7pm, which will be attended by our new Bishop, Nick Bundock. Ascension will also be celebrated at the usual 10am Thursday service this week.
NEXT Sunday 1st June [Easter 7, Sunday after Ascension]
10am Sung Eucharist led by the Rector, Andrea.
Readings: Acts 16.16-34 Revelation 22.12-14, 16, 17, 20-end John 17.20–end
