On the Eve of St Andrew’s Day we held our Patronal Service which was particularly special this year as it marked the 140th Anniversary of the founding of our little church, which was built and gifted as a Mission church by the 19th Laird of Milngavie, Archibald Campbell Douglas. We celebrated with a Sung Eucharist at which our Lay Reader Fraser Gold preached. He described occasions in the gospels when Andrew is mentioned and what we can learn about his character from his actions and words. Andrew’s practical, thoughtful nature & his quest to discover more of Jesus is an inspiration for all of us in our Christian lives. The service was followed by warm and enjoyable fellowship over a tasty fish and chip supper. Thanks as always go to Pamela for organising the fish and chip orders so efficiently & for all who helped to make this a special occasion.
