26th April – Jesus the Good Shepherd

27th April 2026

Robin’s sermon focussed on the reading for John’s Gospel chapter 10 verses 1-10 which describes Jesus as the Good Shepherd. He wondered whom Jesus might have been referring to as “thieves and bandits” at the time he was speaking. Commentators suggest that it was those in power who ultimately crucified Jesus. Robin wondered who might fit that description now in the context of leadership in our world today. The importance of being able to distinguish what is authentically good in such leadership, using the character of Jesus as a guide, was suggested as one way of discerning in such complexity.
