Melting wax crayons onto hot stones is a mesmerising activity and it didn’t matter if we didn’t like the result as the process was so absorbing and meditative. As it happened the results were pretty good with marbling effects, flowers and abstract designs created. No participant was burnt which was amazing as the stones are extremely hot when they come out the oven. Varnishing once the stones cool restores the gloss finish.
