1st August – Trinity Nine

4th August 2021

Andrea is on holiday so Robin led the service and Fraser preached. Once again we appreciated being able to sing and also enjoy refreshments in the garden after the service. That is the seventh Sunday in a row when it has been dry!!

Exodus 16 2-4, 9-15

Ephesians 4.1-16

John 6.24-35

Fraser focused on the theme of how each of us have a part to play in building up the body of Christ. Small acts of kindness and love in our daily lives and many jobs that we don’t immediately see as part of christian ministry are all important in spreading the love of Christ & making a difference to those we meet.

The words of Jesus in the gospel ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’ (John 6.35) tell us that his presence is with us each day, feeding us with all that we need through the power of the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the presence of Christ in the sharing of bread at communion, week by week.

Teach me, my God and King,
in all things thee to see;
and what I do in anything
to do it as for thee
