Soup and Snowdrops!

17th February 2022

Fourteen intrepid snowdrop viewers, along with Andrea’s dogs, Trinko and Claude, gathered at Mugdock East Car park on Saturday morning, optimistic that wind and rain forecasts would not come to pass. We were blessed in that the rain only started at the finish of the walk and there were no gale force winds to challenge our progress. Instead we had a very relaxed walk, lots of chat along the way and a fantastic display of snowdrops, the high point being around the castle.

Back at the hall there was a great selection of very welcome home-made soup to choose from. Many of us sampled two (or more!) varieties with bread including Liz’s delicious sour dough bread, rolls and oatcakes followed by tea, coffee and cake.

The walk and lunch was a great opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and get to know each other better. Thanks to Jane and Tim for planning it and to all the soup, bread and cake-makers for providing a delicious lunch and to Robert for being photographer-in-chief!

We’re looking forward to our next walk planned for the end of March.
