Last Sunday we were treated to a wonderful concert in support of Ukraine, organised by Geoff and Penny Haydock. The Salon Orchestra conducted by Geoff and accompanied on the piano by Penny gave performances in both the afternoon and evening. The varied programme of known and loved pieces powerfully and movingly demonstrated the skills of all the players. Geoff’s introductions to the music were informative and extremely entertaining, creating a very relaxed atmosphere. A beautiful bouquet of flowers was presented to Penny to celebrate her big birthday! As well as providing a very enjoyable and memorable concert for the audience, the great sum of £3000 was raised for Ukraine.
