6th November – Don’t Panic, Stand Firm, Give Thanks!

6th November 2022

Robin led the service this morning, deputising for Andrea.
We were very grateful to Hugh whose organ accompaniment helped us to sing with good voice!
We prayed for Pamela who is also now in hospital and we continue to pray for Gordon and all the Rutherford family.

Robin’s sermon focused on Paul’s message to the Thessalonians, linking the situation then with what is happening in our world today.
The readings from Job and Luke focused on the good news of the resurrection:

‘For I know that my Redeemer lives,’ Job 19:25

‘Indeed they cannot die any more, because they are like angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.’ Luke 20:36.

At the end Robin summarised Paul’s message as ‘Don’t Panic, Stand firm, Give thanks!’
