On Sunday, visiting priest, Rev Kevin Francis took the service. He spoke on the difficult passage in Matthew’s Gospel where Jesus said “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the Earth, I have not come to bring peace but a sword “. Kevin said that theologians have given different interpretations, but a literal one to justify war does not fit in with the usual message of peace and love. Kevin suggested that a sword can be a symbol of disruption, and that we are called to live a life of truth, commitment and change wherever it may lead.
The vestry is continuing the process of seeking a new minister and will soon submit the Parish Profile and other documents to the Bishop.
